Scholar LuncheonThe Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health held its inaugural Scholarship Luncheon, Friday, September 21st at the Arizona Inn. The College’s donors, scholarship recipients, Community Advisory Board members and University of Arizona President, Robert Shelton, were among the guests of honor.

Students and their scholarship donors sat interspersed at each table, providing a unique opportunity to get to know one another.  (Click photo for for larger image).

Students Veronica Marcantonio, Agneizka Handzel, Monica Vasquez and Ada Dieke shared with the group inspirational stories of the impact that scholarships have had on their academic achievements and stressed the importance to their success of people believing in their abilities. In his remarks to the luncheon goers, Mr. Bruce Ash, Co-Chair of the College’s Community Advisory Board Scholarship Campaign, underscored these sentiments and emphasized the escalating need for committed public health scholarship donors. The Campaign’s goal is to raise three million dollars for the College’s scholarship endowment.
