What's Inside the Dean's Report?

This public-friendly, non-technical document is designed to give the reader a taste of the breadth and depth of public health and news about academic offerings and research at the College.  A background in public health is not required.  Get the latest news in public health in Arizona, the Southwest, and the World!

Articles in the Report are one to two pages in length.  Many articles have URL links to the MEZCOPH web pages which provide more in-depth information and future updates about research work and projects.

Naming of Dean's Report Issues

The Dean’s Report was originally to be an annual publication released in April orMay, near the end of each school year, much like a yearbook.  The name of the first one from April, 2008, was called Dean’s Report 2007-2008, since it spanned about half of each year.   Then the next one that would have been released in April, 2009 would have been the Dean’s Report 2008-2009.

Dean Iman Hakim decided in the fall of 2008 that it would be better to release the Dean’s Report at the end of the calendar year.   Since the time span between April, 2008 and December, 2009 was a year and eight months, a long span, Dean Hakim made plans for a Dean's Report to complete the 2008 calendar year.   So the naming convention is:

Title
Release Date
Time Period Covered
Dean's Report 2007-2008
April, 2008

Covers most of 2007 and through April, 2008.  Does not have a specific completion or release date listed in it.

Dean’s Report 2008
January 3, 2009
Covers April, 2008 through December, 2008.  This issue has a completion date on the inside cover of December 11, 2008.
Dean’s Report 2009
November or December, 2009

Will cover January through November or December, 2009, depending on the final publication and release dates.

Future reports will have a month or so of overlap with a previous year, depending on each issue's publication and release dates.
