Dean Marie Swanson Named First Mel and Enid Zuckerman Endowed Chair in Public Health
G. Marie Swanson, PhD, MPH, founding dean and professor at the UA Zuckerman College of Public Health, has been named the first Mel and Enid Zuckerman Endowed Chair in Public Health.

Dr. Carmona, 17th Surgeon General of the United States, Appointed Professor at the College
Richard H. Carmona, MD, MPH, FACS, 17th Surgeon General of the United States, has been appointed professor of public health at the UA Zuckerman College of Public Health.
In addition, Dr. Carmona has joined Canyon Ranch as vice chairman of the 27-year-old life enhancement company. Dr. Carmona also will serve as chief executive officer of Canyon Ranch’s Health division and president of the nonprofit Canyon Ranch Institute. More...
Fashion Show Highlights UA Diversity
About 150 people attended the first of its kind Diversity Fashion Show at the UA Zuckerman College of Public Health, Oct. 22.
"The motivation for the show was to have a fun event where friends, classmates and co-workers could share their diverse backgrounds," said Ada Dieke, a master of public health student and event coordinator. "We hoped that attendees would not only be entertained, but also would gain greater cultural sensitivity. "
The Public Health Student Alliance and Student Diversity Committee at the College, in association with the International Rescue Committee, held the cultural fashion show to celebrate acceptance and awareness of global cultures and population diversity. More...
