HIV/AIDS Prevention Fellowship
Global Service Corps Tanzania (GSC) seeks a fellow to perform the duties of Assistant Program Coordinator. This position will assist the Director of Operations in the administration of the GSC Tanzania HIV/AIDS program. A minimum commitment of 14 months beginning in mid May is required.
Allan Rosenfield Global Health Fellowship
The Allan Rosenfield Global Health Fellowship provides international training opportunities for recent graduates of ASPH member accredited schools of public health (MPH and Doctoral level). Early career professionals with graduate degrees from ASPH member schools of public health are also eligible to apply.
The students selected as the Allan Rosenfield Global Health Fellows are expected to involve themselves, as Dean Rosenfield has done throughout his career, in all aspects of global health. The fellowship is a unique training opportunity to learn from leading CDC experts in CDC headquarters in Atlanta as well as various international posts.To be eligible, students must have received their MPH or Doctorate degree prior to the beginning of the fellowship (no later than August 2008). Early career professionals with MPH or Doctorate degrees (within 5 years of graduation) may also apply for the fellowship program. Application deadline April 1st, 2008, 5 pm, EST.
International Epidemiology Training Fellowship, Universidad del Valle de Guatemala
3 one-year International Epidemiology Training Fellowships for recent graduates in epidemiology and biostatistics who are interested in gaining experience in international public health by working directly with epidemiologists, scientists and public health practitioners from Central America and the CDC. Salary, airline ticket, housing and field travel expenses paid. Applications accepted through May 15, 2008, although decisions may be made earlier.
ASPH/CDC/PRC Minority Fellowship
The Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH), through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Prevention Research Centers (PRC) program, supports fellowship positions for minority doctoral students. The selected fellows conduct research related to the efforts of, and within, CDC-funded Prevention Research Centers.
The overall intent of the program is to enhance the preparation of future public health professionals from ethnic and racial minorities by providing unique training opportunities in prevention research. The support offered through this program will expand minority representation in the public health prevention research workforce and provide fellows an opportunity to gain practical, first-hand experience in prevention research. Its goal is to address emerging needs of public health, and to provide leadership and professional opportunities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (CDC/ATSDR) for students and graduate students of ASPH member graduate schools of public health. The fellowships are from one to two years in duration, depending on the needs of CDC and the fellow. The Fellowship Program was established to strengthen the relationship between the academic public health community and public health practice agencies. Compton Foundation/PRB International Fellows

Population Reference Bureau (PRB) Fellows Program
The Population Reference Bureau (PRB) is now accepting applications for its 2008–2009 Fellows Program in Population Policy Communications. The Program is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). It is open to individuals from developing countries that are doctoral-level students between their 3rd and 5th year of studies, currently enrolled in academic institutions in the United States or Canada. Developing-country applicants may be in any field of study but their area of interest must be in family planning and/or reproductive health (FP/RH), including contraceptive use/behavior, population growth, adolescent reproductive health, poverty and health equity, and gender issues. In response to the need for a skilled workforce in applied epidemiology at state and local health departments, the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) has established the Applied Epidemiology Fellowship Program in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH).
The goal of the Fellowship is to provide a high quality on-the-job training experience in applied epidemiology for recent graduates and to prepare Fellows for long-term career placement at the state and local level. Based on their career aspirations and available positions, Fellows are carefully matched to a state or local health agency or federal quarantine station for two years under the guidance of an experienced mentor. ASPH/NHTSA Injury Prevention and Traffic Safety
Public Health Fellowship Program The Injury Prevention and Traffic Safety Public Health Fellowship, a collaborative effort between the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), is a unique training opportunity for recent graduates of ASPH member accredited schools of public health (MPH and Doctoral level). Early career professionals with graduate degrees from ASPH member schools of public health are also eligible to apply. ASPH continues to accept applications for a fellowship opportunity at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the Division of Violence Prevention for students currently enrolled in doctoral programs and early career professionals with doctorate degrees from ASPH member schools of public health. ASPH is looking to all faculty to help identify talented students and recent graduates to encourage them to apply. Application deadline 09/14/07.

BWF/ASTMH Postdoctoral Fellowship in Tropical Infectious Diseases. A grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF) allows the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) to award three postdoctoral fellowships each year. Each awardee will receive two years of support. Although the program will still target postdoctoral infectious diseases fellows, applicants who have completed training in other clinical specialties relevant to tropical medicine, such as internal medicine, pediatrics and OB/GYN, will also be considered. Overseas Fellowships in Global Health and Clinical Research. For the fifth year, the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) has once again teamed up with the NIH's Fogarty International Center (FIC), the Ellison Medical Foundation, the NIH National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the NIH National Institute on Drug Abuse, and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) to sponsor the FIC/Ellison Overseas Fellowship Program. This program offers overseas fellowship opportunities for doctoral-level students of public health and other health professions schools.
The one-year clinical research training experience is for doctoral-level U.S. students in the health professions. This is an opportunity for highly motivated individuals to experience mentored research training at top-ranked NIH-funded research centers in a diverse group of countries, including Bangladesh, Botswana, Brazil, China, Haiti, India, Kenya, Mali, Peru, Russia, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, and Zambia.

NCHS/AcademyHealth Health Policy Fellowship. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and AcademyHealth are seeking applications for their 2008 Health Policy Fellowship. The aim of the fellowship is to foster collaboration between NCHS staff and visiting scholars on a wide range of topics of mutual concern. The fellowship allows visiting scholars to conduct new and innovative analyses and participate in developmental and health policy activities related to the design and content of future NCHS surveys and offers access to the data resources provided by the CDC.
Applicants may be at any stage in their career from doctoral students to senior investigators. Doctoral students must have completed course work and be at the dissertation phase of their program. Applicants must also demonstrate training and/or experience in health services research and methodology, reflecting disciplines such as public health, public administration, economics, sociology, health care administration and the behavioral sciences. Graduate Student Internship Program (GSIP). Maternal and Child Health Bureau of HRSA offers paid internships in state and city health departments to graduate students in public health to provide training in MCH epidemiology. Application deadline 02/16/07.
CDC Prevention Specialist Service & Training Program. Three year service and training program that builds skills in program planning, implementation, and evaluation for master's degree graduates with one year public health experience. Application deadline - 2/15.
Dr. James A. Ferguson Emerging Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program. Minority Health Professions Foundation offers eight week professional development program for racial and ethnic minority students in medical, dental, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and masters of public health graduate students. Morris K Udall Foundation Native American Congressional Internships. Ten week internship for junior, senior, or graduate Native American students and recent graduates provides insider's view of the federal government. Application deadline 01/31/07.
Presidential Intern Program for Undergraduate and Graduate College Students. Provides opportunity for college students to learn about key professional positions with the American Red Cross.
