Biography

Dr. Jacobs is a cancer epidemiologist who focuses on genetic and lifestyle risk factors for colorectal cancer. She currently has two NCI-funded R01 grants to study the relationships between vitamin D and cancer. Along with her collaborator, Dr. Peter Jurutka, she is investigating the epidemiology and molecular biology of vitamin D and a specific type of polyps known as colorectal adenomas. In collaboration with the University of California San Diego, she is also studying the relationship between dietary intake and biomarkers of vitamin D status and breast cancer recurrence.
