Biography

M. Jane Mohler, RN, MPH, PhD is an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, with co-appointments in the University of Arizona Colleges of Public Health, Pharmacy and Nursing and Arizona State University College of Nursing. She is the Co-Director of the Arizona Geriatric Education Center, Associate Director of Research Development at the Arizona Center on Aging, and Associate Director of the Arizona Reynolds Program of Applied Geriatrics. A nurse for over 30 years, and a doctor of epidemiology for over a decade, Dr. Mohler is committed to better understanding chronic disease, and is dedicated to promoting health and well-being across the life course. In addition, she is a committed educator, having taught in all four Colleges, she is especially interested in interprofessional (IP) education and training, mentoring and career development. She has over a decade of experience in training medical and graduate students, residents, fellows and new investigators in research design, methodology, and technical writing of investigator initiated, career development, and medical research proposals, in addition to abstracts, posters and manuscripts in the area of aging-related research.

 As past director of the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System’s Health Services Research Center, she has deep experience in health services research, especially as relates to models of chronic disease care, chronic disease management, and self-care. In addition she is dedicated to helping to build new interprofessional (IP) models of collaborative clinical care.
