Professor Huanjiu Xi

Several features make Tibet an unique location of study, including Tibet’s geographical elevation, environment, biological species, as well as Tibetan’s culture and lifestyle. This presentation will provide an overview of the anthropological study of Tibetans. Focusing on the special natural lab located in Tibet, several measurements including physical and genetic traits of the Tibetans were examined to understand similarities and differences between Tibetans and people of other geographical regions. The study found that the Tibetan population shares higher homology with the northern group of Chinese.
