Academic Advisor II
Anais Garcia advises students with the last names N-Z. She has worked in higher education for many years as a Spanish instructor and as a Minor Advisor for the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Arizona. She has also been an active member of the Tucson community by working with different community coalitions and non-profit organizations as a program facilitator and coordinator. Prior to joining the College of Public Health, she worked as Bilingual Health Education Specialist for the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation. This position gave her the opportunity to intertwine her passions: education, public health, students, and the Tucson community.
Now, as an Academic Advisor, Anais is bringing to the team her experience with the Tucson community and its diverse populations, her interpersonal skills, and her passion to help students go through their college years with the knowledge needed to succeed and achieve their goals.
