National Network of Libraries of Medicine Training
On February 3rd and February 4th, 2020 the Academic Health Department hosted Julie Botnick, Education and Outreach Librarian with the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM). Julie presented to AHD colleagues at Pima County Health Department, Santa Cruz County Health Department, Mariposa Community Health Center, and Cochise Health and Social Services on the free public health resources available for health departments and academic institutions through NNLM. Julie also provided trainings specific to substance use disorders, serving diverse communities, graphic medicine, health statistics, and online resources to support evidence-based practice on population health. Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health Library Resources Training
In January 2020, Jean McClelland, Program Director of Community Based Health Information Resources at MEZCOPH, provided library resource trainings for Academic Health Department Designated Campus Colleagues (DCC) at Pima County Health Department. DCC’s are sponsored by MEZCOPH Department Chairs and are provided with free access to University of Arizona libraries. Jean’s training addressed stategies to access health information unique to the needs of Pima County Health Department employees.
