About the Minor
The public health minor for undergraduate students is a great opportunity to infuse public health, community health, and other integral health concepts into a student's curriculum. A minimum of 18 units are required for the undergraduate minor in Public Health, and you need to earn a grade of C or higher in these units.
Courses that are required for the minor are: HPS/CPH 178, HPS/CPH 200, EPID/CPH 309, and 9 additional units of HPS/CPH/EPID/BIOS/PHPM/EHS upper-division coursework that you pick.
How to Declare the Minor
Admission to the minor requires a minimum 2.5 GPA. If you meet this minimum, please send your prospective advisor a brief statement of interest (approximately 300 words) on why you’d like to add the minor to your degree.
Admission into the minor does not guarantee entry into HPS/CPH/EPID/BIOS/PHPM/EHS courses. For more information, download the Undergrad Minor in Public Health PDF
*PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PUBLIC HEALTH MINOR CANNOT BE DECLARED DURING PRIORITY REGISTRATION. Students will be expected to re-submit their statement of interest at the close of Priority Registration to have the minor added to their degree.
Advising is split by the alphabet of the student's last name.
