Why choose the UA / What’s awesome about the UA:

I always visited the UA when I was younger and loved the experience I had here. I chose to come to school here because of the academics and student life that was provided here. I have enjoyed the friends and connections that I have made and look forward to continued relationships.

Why did you choose public health?

I chose public health because of the vast areas that are incorporated in the world of public health. Through working in the hospital systems during the covid pandemic, I saw the significance of public health and the areas that were not emphasized enough and was blown away by the number of people that didn't really understand what public health is and how important it is. I hope to bring more insight into public health and provide more education and resources for prevention of conditions.

    What are your career goals:

Following my time at MEZCOPH, I plan to continue my education to pursue a medical degree with a specialty in cardiac anesthesiology or interventional cardiology. I have a passion for high stress and critical care so continuing in a specialty in that area as well as being able to use my knowledge to help underserved communities and populations.

Fun Fact about you (hobbies, trivia, etc.):

I grew up hiking, camping, hunting and fishing and those are all things that I love to participate in currently. I have a love for livestock (cattle and horses) and once completed with school, would like to raise livestock again.

One piece of advice for incoming students (transfer and freshmen):

Enjoy your time and don't rush. Before you know it your time will be coming to an end and you'll be applying to grad school or finding a job as a "real adult." Make connections, try new clubs and classes, this is the best time to find what your passion is and it should be a fun and enjoyable experience.
