Exploring Solutions: Homelessness, Substance Use, and Mental Health

We have rescheduled our community town hall event, titled Exploring Solutions: Homelessness, Substance Use, & Mental Health, for November 9, 2022.

The original community town hall event was postponed due to the tragic shooting on campus that resulted in the death of University of Arizona professor Thomas Meixner. Now that some time has passed to grieve, process, and reflect, we have set the new date.

The rescheduled community town hall will take place on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 3:30 to 6pm. This free event will take place in the Forum in the Health Sciences Innovation Building (HSIB) on the Health Sciences campus. Food and soft beverages will be provided, and students are especially encouraged to attend.

About the event:

We invite you to join us for this interactive discussion on how to solve the challenges associated with mental health, substance use, and homelessness. We will have a panel of experts who work on these related challenges. Afterwards participants will work together to discuss challenges and solutions that work for our diverse communities here in Arizona. Each table of participants generates an approach that will build towards the Statewide Town Hall that will cap the process, and a final recommendations report.

This event is organized in partnership with Arizona Town Hall, which is hosting discussion events on the same topic all around the State of Arizona in an effort to build awareness, connection, and consensus.
