The Annual MEZCOPH Public Health Poster Forum provides a unique opportunity for students conducting public health-related research and community-based work to connect with professionals from the public health industry, regional and state governments. This event fosters future collaborations, including employment and research partnerships, while offering professional development opportunities in the planning of and participation in a professional conference.

Theme: Building Resilient Communities: Public Health Strategies for the Future
This year’s theme focuses on exploring innovative and evidence-based approaches to strengthen community resilience in the face of public health challenges. As the world navigates complex issues such as pandemics, climate change, and health inequities, the forum will highlight strategies that foster adaptability, equity, and sustainability in communities.

Who Can Participate?
Graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Arizona are invited to present their work. Eligible presentations include:
- Original research with a public health focus or application
- Community engagement, practice, or service projects with a public health-related impact
Abstracts from all disciplines are welcome, as long as they relate to public health.
Scholarship Opportunities

Call for Abstracts
Important Dates:

We are seeking posters in the following categories:
- Original Research
Posters presenting research with a clearly defined objective, measurable outcomes, and a public health application. Examples include innovative approaches, conceptual findings, and practical applications. - Community Engagement, Practice & Service
Posters showcasing collaboration with the community to exchange and produce beneficial knowledge and resources. Examples include program development, policy recommendations, evaluation, and assessment.
Abstracts are welcome from all areas of public health.
Abstract Guidelines:
- Length: Maximum of 250 words.
- Title: Maximum of 10 words.
- Abstracts must be clear, concise, and well-written.

- Count the words or characters: Microsoft Word or Character Count.
- Tips for writing an abstract for a poster.

Creating a Poster - Tips and Tricks:
Not sure where to begin? Here are a couple of starting points:
- Think about the most interesting finding you would like to share from your research project.
- What data will you be sharing and which visuals will you use (charts, graphs, images)?
- What are the key points you want attendees to remember? How will you convey this information during your poster talk?
Aesthetics of the poster:
- Simple design and organized
- Important information should be easily readable
- Minimal text with 4-10 high resolution figures and/or tables (these are your main focus)
- Poster talks are like elevator speeches, make sure key points are clear and can be easily understood/explained
- Include title, author, abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, references, acknowledgements, your name and institutional/departmental affiliation
