Biography
Elsa Loya (pronouns: she/her/hers) advises public health undergraduate students with the last names of F-M. Elsa is a University of Arizona alum, having earned her B.S. in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Behaviors in December 2017. As a first generation college student, Elsa transferred over from Pima Community College her sophomore year and declared pre-public health as her major. After being undecided, she had finally found her passion. During her undergraduate studies, Elsa completed her internship with Vivé Peru and with the Girls on the Run program. She also studied abroad in the Human Sexuality Northern Europe program and volunteered with Global Medical and Public Health Brigades in Honduras and Nicaragua.
In addition to a multitude of volunteering experience, Elsa previously enlisted and served in the Arizona Army National Guard from 2012-2017. Before joining the undergraduate advising team, she previously worked in the UA Early Academic Outreach Department as a Program Coordinator for a family college preparation program in the Sunnyside School District called College Academy for Parents.
