Biography

Karl Krupp has been focused on Global Health disparities since 2006. He is a co-founder of Public Health Research Institute of India (PHRII) n Mysore, India. Over the last decade Dr. Krupp’s research has included a broad cross-section of health issues and populations. His early work was in prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV in India, vaginal infections, inflammation, innate immunity, drug resistance, point-of-care diagnostics, and screening for breast and cervical cancer. In recent years, Dr. Krupp has been working on blood-based diagnostics for breast and cervical cancer and health disparities in US/Mexico border populations.

Dr. Krupp completed his dissertation research on coronary heart disease among slum-dwelling women in India. His dissertation research was funded by the Fogarty International Center and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). More recent research both in Arizona and globally include studies on how Hispanic families cope with COVID-19, stress and health in US/ Mexico border populations, childhood and HPV vaccine acceptability, preterm birth, and the vaginal microbiome. Studies have been documented in more than 80 peer-review articles in high impact journals.
