Zhao Chen, PhD, MPH

UA President Eugene Sander has appointed Zhao Chen, PhD, MPH, professor and director of the epidemiology & biostatistics divsion in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and John Olsen, Regents’ Professor of Anthropology, as co-directors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Arizona.

The CIUA was established in May 2008 and collaborates with Hanban in Beijing. CIUA’s mission is to develop and maintain professional expertise in Chinese teacher education, and promote Chinese language and culture for speakers of other languages.
