Dear COPH Community!

As you have heard, the College of Public Health is hosting a virtual convocation ceremony celebrating the Class of Fall 2020 MEZCOPH graduates. We have 162 (66 BS, 85 MPH, & 11 Doctoral) graduates participating in the virtual ceremony and we hope you can participate as well! Stop by and share your congratulations message to the Class of 2020 and cheer on the students as their names are being read. 

Each graduate will be individually recognized during the interactive ceremony via a personalized slide. The ceremony will also include videos from Dean Iman Hakim, announcing of student awards by Interim Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, John Ehiri, and Assistant Dean Chris Tisch. There will also be different celebratory messages from faculty and staff.

DATE & TIME

The Fall 2020 Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health Virtual Convocation is scheduled to begin at the following time:

Friday, December 18, 2020 at 4:00 PM (ARIZONA TIME)

We anticipate that the College’s virtual ceremony will last approximately one hour. The ceremony will premier live at its scheduled time on the College’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/UAZPublicHealth. The ceremony will be found at the top of the Facebook page at its scheduled time so you will be able to easily find it.

The ceremony video will remain on the College’s Facebook page so it will be accessible to view at a later time. You do not need to have a Facebook account to view the ceremony.

SOCIAL MEDIA

The graduates have been provided ideas on how to celebrate with their guests while practicing social distancing. For example, the graduate students have been encouraged to locate a friend, family member, or loved one to hood them as their name is being called. Other ideas are for students to host virtual calls with their guests so they can help cheer them on as their names are being called.

Students have been asked to capture their celebrations and to share their images with the Office of Student Services and Alumni Affairs so their celebration can be shared on the College of Public Health Social Media platforms (after it is reviewed for appropriateness).
