The Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health is dedicated to promoting health and wellness of individuals and communities in the southwest and globally with an emphasis on achieving health equity through excellence in research, teaching, and service. Our Minor in Wellness and Health Promotion Practice serves as an extension of our mission to promote health and social justice locally and globally.

Everywhere we look, new programs promote health and wellness across all ages of our society. This minor will enhance students’ ability to work in a range of health-related careers, from healthcare providers to community health agencies, and to implement programs that use mindfulness, nutrition, and exercise to meet the needs of diverse populations.
The Wellness and Health Promotion Practice minor is available to be declared starting Fall 2021 for main campus students. A minimum of 18 units is required to complete the Wellness and Health Promotion Practice minor and at least 9 units must be upper-division. Public Health BS majors may only double-use 6 units towards the major and minor requirements. Students enrolled in the BA in Wellness and Health Promotion Practice are not eligible to add the minor in Wellness and Health Promotion Practice.

Admission to the minor requires a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Step Two
Complete the online Public Health Minor Declaration Form. Note: Admission into the minor does not guarantee entry into public health courses as course registration depends on meeting course pre-requisites and course availability.

See the academic advising page to determine your academic advisor (determined by the student's campus and last name). Once the minor has been added to your program in UAccess, you will have access to email and meet with your assigned minor advisor.
