Why choose the UA / What’s awesome about the UA:I am a student ambassador, as well as a student worker here at MEZCOPH so I am always in the building and I find it to be like my second home. No matter what I am feeling, when I step foot into MEZCOPH my mood changes. I have amazing mentors that are always eager to help me out when needed as well as giving me such great advice, which I truly value and has really helped me throughout college. I am so happy with my choice here, and could not imagine it any other way!
Why did you choose public health?I chose Public Health because I always loved healthcare and wanted to make a change in the world. This major is very diverse with many great opportunities which I really enjoy because it allows me to try out many different specialties within the major.
Fun Fact about you (hobbies, trivia, etc.):When I am not studying or in class I really enjoy going to yoga, as well as running. I always feel as though those are great hobbies for me to clear my mind. Books are another one of my big hobbies, I can spend hours strolling around in Barnes & Noble if I have enough time. When I read it feels as though I am entering another world, and can escape any stress I may be feeling.
One piece of advice for incoming students (transfer and freshmen):I find that it is very important to have time for yourself. College can get very overwhelming at times, and it is vital to find interests that can allow you to escape even for a little bit. I always find that once I do something I like I can come back to studying, or homework with a much clearer head.
