Join us for a unique opportunity to hear from Dr.
Leonel Argüello Yrigoyen, a physician with more
than 40 years of experience in global and public
health and a leading advocate for the rational use
of medications. He is an expert in the prevention,
surveillance and treatment of communicable
diseases and has served as director of PCI (Project
Concern International) Nicaragua, president of
SONIMEG (Nicaraguan Society of General Medicine),
and founder, in the 1980s, of the Ministry of Health
in Nicaragua (MINSA). While in Nicaragua, he also
founded a school of public health and multiple
training clinics for health professionals. His programs
were responsible for training thousands of doctors
and health care workers annually.
