Public Health Students Receive UA Accolades Award

Doctoral candidates Samantha Sabo and Laura Suppes from the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health are recipients of the University of Arizona Accolades Award. The Accolades celebrate the achievements of outstanding members of the campus community and take pride in Wildcats who have committed themselves to the University of Arizona.

Samantha Sabo, a DrPH candidate in Maternal and Child Health, was the recipient of the Outstanding Social Justice Advocate Award, presented to an individual who selflessly advocates for the interests of others.

Laura Suppes, a PhD candidate in Environmental Health Sciences, received the Outstanding Graduate Student Leader Award, presented to a University of Arizona masters/doctoral student for outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and involvement in co-curricular activities, community service, and general rapport with faculty, staff, peers, and undergraduates.

The awards were presented at a ceremony in the Student Union on April 20. Both Samantha and Laura will graduate in May.
