Join us for the fourth annual Feast for Your Brain event to promote healthy aging!
Everyone is invited to attend the free Feast for Your Brain healthy aging event to enjoy performances, presentations, music, health services, games, mind-body exercises, and food, all organized to bring the community together and increase awareness about healthy aging practices, brought to you by the Precision Aging Network, Mindcrowd, and the UA’s Zuckerman College of Public Health!
Feast for Your Brain 2025 is almost here, and everyone is invited to join us, whether you have enjoyed the Feast before or you’re exploring for the first time! Over the past three years, the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH), the Precision Aging Network (PAN), and Mindcrowd have brought together Southern Arizona to celebrate healthy brains and healthy aging at this annual event. A free community gathering, Feast for Your Brain provides education, entertainment, and health services to guests of all ages. Join us on October 25th, 2025, from 10am to 3pm, at the El Rio Neighborhood Center (1390 W Speedway Blvd) and bring the whole family to experience the fun for yourself!
Feast for your Brain fosters a healthy community in so many ways! We invite you to engage with our community partner vendors, learn from researchers’ presentations, receive free health screenings, play games, win prizes (including tickets to UA Football’s Homecoming game!), and enjoy song and dance performances from local cultural centers and groups, including Mexican, African, and Chinese traditions. In partnership with Foodsmart, a national leader in tele-nutrition, we will be giving away free nutritious grocery boxes to the first 50 attendees!
Zhao Chen, PhD, MPH, Distinguished Professor and Associate Dean for Research at MEZCOPH leads the community engagement, recruitment, and retention effort for PAN in Arizona and across study sites in the United States.
“We invite you and your family to join the fourth annual Feast for Your Brain event on October 25th to celebrate and to promote health in Southern Arizona,” said Dr. Chen, “Through participatory activities and games we’ll share research to empower our community for healthy aging together, and everyone can participate in creative dance and Tai Chi classes on site. Also we are especially excited to present our program in both English and Spanish!”
Norma Carrasco Flores, who has attended all three Feast for Your Brain events shared her enthusiasm. “As Latinos, it is important to recognize the value in these types of programs—especially when we are given the appropriate information and equitable opportunities to join studies and health research, all to have a better quality of life.”
Algurie Wilson, from the Coalition for African American Health and Wellness, has joined the event for three years as one of our community partners and table vendors. “I’ve seen Feast for Your Brain grow and evolve which allows the event organizers to make it better each year. I encourage you to plan on attending and I’m looking forward to being back.”
We encourage everyone in our community to join us on October 25th! For more information, contact Carolina Carrasco via email, carolinacarrasco@arizona.edu, and she will be happy to help.
