Research within the field of Obesity at our college centers on conducting epidemiological and intervention research supporting lifestyle behavior change to modify risk for or consequences of obesity and related chronic disease (e.g., diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease). Efforts include evaluating environmental and behavioral factors, and applying clinical and/or community-based as well as culturally-sensitive intervention methodology to prevent or reduce obesity.
