The Annual MEZCOPH Public Health Poster Forum provides a unique opportunity for students conducting public health-related research and community-based work to connect with professionals from the public health industry, regional and state governments. This event fosters future collaborations, including employment and research partnerships, while offering professional development opportunities in the planning of and participation in a professional conference.

💡 Theme: Building Resilient Communities: Public Health Strategies for the Future
This year’s theme focuses on exploring innovative and evidence-based approaches to strengthen community resilience in the face of public health challenges. As the world navigates complex issues such as pandemics, climate change, and health inequities, the forum will highlight strategies that foster adaptability, equity, and sustainability in communities.
Keynote Speaker
Del Yazzie, MPH

Del works as the director and senior epidemiologist for the Navajo Tribal Epidemiology Center. He received his MPH degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He was born and raised in Cove, AZ (Navajo Nation). His maternal clan is Red House, paternal clan is Red Running into Water Clan, maternal grandfather clan is Yucca Fruit Strung Out in a Line, and paternal grandfather clan is Coyote Pass. His work focuses on leading the Navajo Nation’s disease surveillance efforts, putting science and data into action to help Navajo communities stay healthy. He also serves on the Navajo Tribal Institutional Review Board and CDC and NIH Tribal Advisory Committees.

Call for Abstracts

Deadlines:
- Priority Submission: Friday, February 14, 2025, by 5:00 PM MST
- Final Submission: Friday, February 21, 2025, by 5:00 PM MST
- Announcement of accepted abstract: Friday, March 7, 2025, by 5:00 PM MST
We are seeking posters in the following categories:
- Original Research
Posters showcasing research with a public health focus or application, including studies in epidemiology, health policy, environmental health, biostatistics, and more.
- Community Engagement, Practice & Service
Posters highlighting collaboration with communities to exchange and produce beneficial knowledge and resources. Examples include program development, policy recommendations, evaluation, and service projects with a public health impact.
Abstracts from all disciplines are welcome, as long as they relate to public health.
Abstract Guidelines:
- Length: Maximum of 250 words.
- Title: Maximum of 10 words.
- Abstracts must be clear, concise, and well-written.
