Health & Healing Arts Festival in Phoenix, Feb 16

The University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health will host the Health & Healing Arts Festival at the Arizona Latino Arts & Cultural Center (ALAC) in Phoenix on Saturday, Feb 16th from 1-4 p.m.

Admission is free and families are welcome. Activities will include lectures by UA faculty on the health benefits of tea and chocolate, the connection between sleep, weight control, and disease prevention, Tai-chi and healthy food demonstrations, activities for children, and more!

Topics & Speakers from the University of Arizona:

  • "Drink to your health: The health benefits of tea" - Iman Hakim, MD, PhD, MPH, Dean and Professor of the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.
  • “Chocolate is Good for your Mental Health” - Doug Taren, PhD, MS, Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, The University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health
  • “Sleep, Weight Control, and Disease Prevention” - Jennifer H. Stern, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Arizona Cancer Center.

The Arizona Latino Arts & Cultural Center is located at 147 E. Adams St. in Phoenix. Parking is available at the Regency Garage and Collier Center.
