The Annual MEZCOPH Public Health Poster Forum provides a unique opportunity for students conducting public health-related research and community-based work to connect with professionals from the public health industry, regional and state governments. This event fosters future collaborations, including employment and research partnerships, while offering professional development opportunities in the planning of and participation in a professional conference.

Theme: Building Resilient Communities: Public Health Strategies for the Future

This year’s theme focuses on exploring innovative and evidence-based approaches to strengthen community resilience in the face of public health challenges. As the world navigates complex issues such as pandemics, climate change, and health inequities, the forum will highlight strategies that foster adaptability, equity, and sustainability in communities.

Who can participate

University of Arizona graduate and undergraduate students who wish to present either:

  • Original research with a public health focus or application
  • Results of a community engagement, practice or service project with a public health application
  • Abstracts are welcome in all areas of public health.

Scholarship Opportunities

Call for Abstracts

Deadlines:

  • Early Submission: Friday, February 14, 2025, by 5:00 PM MST
  • Extended Submission: Friday, February 21, 2025, by 5:00 PM MST
  • Announcement of accepted abstract: Friday, March 7, 2025, by 5:00 PM MST

We are seeking posters in the following categories:

  1. Community Engagement
    Posters showcasing collaboration with the community to exchange and produce beneficial knowledge and resources. Examples include program development, policy recommendations, evaluation, and assessment.
  2. Innovations
    Posters presenting groundbreaking research or innovative approaches to addressing public health challenges.

Abstracts are welcome from all areas of public health except One Health.

Abstract Guidelines:

  • Length: 1700 characters (approx. 250 words), including spaces.
  • Title: 80 Characters or 10 words maximum
  • Abstracts must be clear, concise, and well-written.

Tips for Creating an Engaging Posters:

  • Highlight your most interesting findings.
  • Use visuals like charts, graphs, and images to convey data.
  • Keep the design simple and organized.
  • Include minimal text with 4–10 high-resolution figures/tables.
  • Ensure important information is easily readable and concise.
