Hope Noriega has been working in the international education realm for 4 years. She was first drawn to the idea of working with international students in grade school, when her family served as a host family to many exchange students. She also has the experience of being an international student herself, having studied abroad in Beijing and Quito as an undergraduate student. Hope began her career working as a Spanish interpreter, and then transitioned to international admissions, where she served as Enrollment Counselor for Latin America, helping the University of Arizona consistently increase their international enrollment, and travelled to multiple locations across North and South America to assist in recruitment. She currently serves as a Program Coordinator for the university’s Global Health Institute(GHI), where she assists with its Dual Degree program in Mexico, and other programs to uphold the GHI’s mission to equip students locally and globally with the skills and tools necessary to become globally minded and culturally competent public health professionals.
During her time in international admissions, Hope was a member of IACAC and NAFSA. While a part of NAFSA, she was awarded the NAFSA Region II International Volunteer of the Year award in 2022 due to her work mentoring refugee youth in her community. She also presented at a couple NAFSA conferences about Domestic Internationals in International Education, and took part in NAFSA’s Academy for International Education. Hope is currently a member of NACADA.
