Letter from
Dean Hakim

Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to introduce the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health's new Strategic Plan for the years 2023-2030. In a world marked by emerging health challenges such as the consequences of climate change, environmental extremes, and mental health issues, we are resolute in our commitment to addressing complex health threats and building a more equitable world. Moreover, as we navigate the evolving landscape of public health, our dedication to digital epidemiology and health innovation will play a pivotal role in shaping a healthier and more resilient global society.

The Strategic Plan serves as our compass, guiding us toward a future where the Zuckerman College of Public Health continues to be at the forefront of change, using new digital tools and technologies to improve health for all. Through collaborative efforts and our commitment to results, we will empower our graduates to make a meaningful impact, to build a future that reduces health disparities and empowers all communities to thrive.

As the Dean of the College, I am proud to share that our strategic vision is grounded in the belief that public health professionals wield a unique combination of the knowledge and skills that will empower us to confront and overcome emerging health challenges. Our graduates will be equipped to maneuver through the intricacies of contemporary health issues, offering innovative solutions that will improve health and well-being at both individual and community levels.

I invite you to join us on this journey as we embrace the opportunities presented by our Strategic Plan 2023-2030. Together, let us continue to shape a healthier and more resilient world.

Sincerely,
