2024 Launching Your Career Symposium

The Launching Your Career (LYC) Symposium is a 2-day campus wide professional development and networking symposium targeted to women in STEM across the University of Arizona. LYC provides students the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and develop relationships with women STEM professionals to help successfully launch their STEM careers!

This year's LYC Symposium features:

  • Keynote Speech by Calline Sanchez (Vice President, IBM)
  • Interactive Workshops: Financial Planning, Salary Negotiation, Countering Imposter Syndrome
  • Professional Insight Panels: Engineering, Data/Tech, Medicine, Environment/Life Science, Hybrid STEM Careers
  • Networking Mixer for students, staff, faculty, and industry professionals
  • Undergraduate Research Poster Presentation and Award

Dr. Paloma Beamer, interim Associate Dean for Community Engagement and Professor at MEZCOPH, will be part of the panel for Environmental Career Paths on Friday February 9th at 9:00am. View the complete Symposium agenda to learn more about the panels and workshops available.


The LYC Symposium is free and open to anyone who registers. Most symposium events will take place in-person but panels will be offered in hybrid format. Hybrid sessions will be identified within the registration process.
