Kaia Kordosky-Herrera is an experienced physician assistant who has come full circle in her career by returning to the University of Arizona. She joined the PA Program in fall 2024 as an instructor and clinical coordinator and, as of June 2025, now serves as the Director of Clinical Education.
Kaia earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Arizona and spent four years teaching in the Tucson area before obtaining her master’s in physician assistant studies from Midwestern University. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively in Arizona, especially in rural communities. Her clinical background spans emergency medicine, orthopedics, and primary care—caring for patients of all ages in both acute and chronic settings.
As the first PA employed at Verde Valley Medical Center, Kaia played a key role in establishing protocols for future PA staff. Her experience owning a primary care clinic in Prescott, Arizona, provided her with valuable perspective as both a provider and clinical director. Her outreach efforts included sports physicals for athletes from elementary to semi-professional levels, as well as leading community health education seminars. Kaia believes strongly in the power of education to improve health outcomes and is passionate about supporting students and underserved populations alike.
