Samantha “Sam” Wertz, PT, DPT, C/NDT, is a board-certified clinical specialist in neurologic physical therapy, a Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery certified therapist and an assistant professor of practice. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri, followed by a neurologic physical therapy residency while working at Encompass Health in Tucson. Wertz has experience in both outpatient and inpatient neurorehabilitation, treating conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis. She has served as a clinical instructor, mentored residents and coordinated clinical student education. As a passionate advocate for community engagement, she sits on the board of Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports as secretary. Wertz is dedicated to lifelong learning, clinical excellence and empowering individuals with neurologic conditions.
