Public Health Student Gives Her Time and Compassion to Help Others
Brooke McKalip graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with an emphasis in Environmental and Occupational Health, with an additional minor in Spanish and a thematic minor designed to complement her dedication to public health. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Brooke gave her time and talent to the college, the university, and the community in many ways to benefit public health!

Brooke McKalip graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with an emphasis in Environmental and Occupational Health, with an additional minor in Spanish and a thematic minor designed to complement her dedication to public health. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Brooke gave her time and talent to the college, the university, and the community in many ways to benefit public health! Brooke won the 2025 Outstanding Senior Award.
During her time in the college, Brooke worked part-time at the Arizona Center for Rural Health. She also served as a member of the Public Health Allied Mentorship Program and as President of the Rotaract Community Service Club organizing weekly volunteer events. She also found time to volunteer with the college’s Mobile Health Unit administering HIV testing across Southern Arizona.
In her hometown of Washington DC, Brooke interned for the DC Street Health program that provides support and healthcare to homeless individuals in the region. And while in Spain she completed a medical internship at a sexual assault center. Brooke’s dedication to public health is truly inspirational!
