The University of Arizona Center for Rural Health was awarded $348,000 in federal funds to support the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program.

For more than 35 years, the center has worked to improve the health and wellness of rural and vulnerable populations in Arizona.

The UA and Northern Arizona University will establish a research center dedicated to reducing health risks posed by environmental hazards in indigenous communities.
