Zuckerman College's own Dr. David Garcia will discuss his academic and professional journey. This will include his experiences as a student, including ups and downs (the things no one wants to talk about). He will also highlight his work at the University of Arizona as Director of “Nosotros Comprometidos a Su Salud”, a program developed to support research through community service and partnering with underserved Tucson residents. In this role, he is examining the burden of obesity-related disease and cancers, such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma, in Mexican-Origin adults.
