Major in Public Health: Health Systems Theory and Practice
I chose public health because it is the major that has given me the foundation to become a more well-rounded physician and community member. Public health is a field that looks into a wide range of factors at different levels, and studying public health has expanded my understanding on how to create meaningful change in someone’s life, healthcare systems, and the community.

Why choose the UA / What’s awesome about the UA:

I chose MEZCOPH because of the people and their commitment to improving health systems in the community. I am constantly inspired by the work that my professors, peers, and the college dedicate to furthering the public health field.

Why did you choose public health?

I chose public health because it is the major that has given me the foundation to become a more well-rounded physician and community member. Public health is a field that looks into a wide range of factors at different levels, and studying public health has expanded my understanding on how to create meaningful change in someone’s life, healthcare systems, and the community.

Fun Fact about you (hobbies, trivia, etc.):

I love attending live sports events and trying new restaurants. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends through cooking, watching dramas, and going on walks.

One piece of advice for incoming students (transfer and freshmen):

Engage in school spirit and get involved in the community! I met some of my best friends by participating in school wide events and activities, and they have made my college experience so much more exciting and memorable. Community involvement will also lead to connections with mentors and organizations that will positively impact you both personally and professionally.
