Stephen Michael, M.S., director of the Arizona Smokers’ Helpline, has been appointed to the Steering Committee of the Multi-State Collaborative for Health Systems Change

Founded in 2007, the collaborative of tobacco control programs is an association of 24 states, their partners, and national organizations working together to advance tobacco interventions in healthcare and improved benefit coverage for tobacco cessation.

The Arizona Smokers’ Helpline (ASHLine) is located in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona.  Funded by the state tax on tobacco products, ASHLine has been helping people quit tobacco since 1995. ASHLine offers free telephone and Web-based quit services and provides free training and technical assistance to healthcare providers statewide.
