Vice Dean's Message

Hello from the Vice Dean of Education and Faculty Affairs

Welcome to the Office of Education and Faculty Affairs (OEFA) for the Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona!

Here in OEFA, we oversee the development of new degree programs in the college, even as we constantly evaluate and improve our existing degree programs (both in-person and online) based on the most recent research and science. We also support our Office of Student Affairs (OSA) to help recruit top students and foster the success of our students once they are enrolled in the college. In addition, we work in many ways to support faculty success and advancement in the college.

We do this work because we know the value and the power of public health. Here in the Zuckerman College of Public Health we train professionals who go on to do vital work in diverse communities. Our graduates lead health programs, research, and services that improve the lives of millions of people, here in the United States and in many other countries.

We face many emerging public health challenges, from the impacts of climate change and human migration to communicable diseases, mental health issues, and environmental degradation. Our education programs are designed to train the next generation of public health professionals who will meet these health challenges and guide us to a healthier, more equitable future.
