Joe Gerald, MD, PhD, was appointed to the American Thoracic Society’s (ATS) Health Policy Committee. Dr. Gerald is an assistant professor in the community, environment and policy division at the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health
The Health Policy Committee advocates for improved health and access to care for patients with critical illnesses and pulmonary and sleep-related conditions. The Committee monitors federal healthcare legislation, policies, and regulations and provides federal agencies with expert knowledge to assist their efforts to improve the provision, funding, and coverage of services and support the prevention of respiratory disease.
Cecilia Rosales, MD, MS, was elected to the Arizona Latino Arts and Cultural Center (ALAC) Board of Directors in Phoenix. Dr. Rosales is an associate professor and director of Phoenix Programs for the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health in Phoenix.
As a member of the board, Dr. Rosales will advise and help to guide Arizona’s only Latino arts and cultural center in the achievement of its long-term goals and objectives. ALAC is a coalition of Latino artists and arts organizations that illuminates, celebrates, and promotes the Latino presence in Arizona through education, advocacy, and facilitation of arts and cultural expressions.
