Biography
Xiaoxiao Sun, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. His research focus is developing theoretically justifiable and computationally efficient methods for complex and big data arising in data-rich areas, such as genomics, social media, and neuroscience. His research interests include nonparametric modeling, computational biology, statistical computing, and big data analytics. In his previous research, he has developed several statistical methods for time course Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data. He is currently focusing on developing the novel computational framework to analyze super-large datasets efficiently.
Dr. Sun earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Georgia in 2018, advised by Professor Ping Ma. Prior to receiving his Ph.D. degree, Dr. Sun obtained BS and MS in Statistics from the Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing.
