The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted systemic inequities and spurred unparalleled collaboration and innovation among sectors and society to respond to the global crisis. Similar health and environmental inequities increase the vulnerability of communities that face adverse health impacts from climate-driven disasters.
Join subject matter experts from health and public health professions, from academia and practice, to learn about what lessons can be learned from our response to COVID and how we can improve our preparedness and recovery when we respond to future climate-driven disasters.
This workshop brings together local and national experts to present ideas, share challenges and brainstorm solutions to chart a path forward on how our societies can take informed action on climate change for the Southwest, particularly Arizona.
In addition to the Zuckerman College of Public Health, this event is co-sponsored by several centers and units at the University of Arizona including the Aegis Consortium, the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center, and the Center for Climate Adaptation Science and Solutions.
