The UArizona’s Zuckerman College of Public Health welcomes Lyn Durán as the new Assistant Dean for the Office of Student Affairs. She brings extensive experience as a team leader for student advising and support, in addition to a deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion that will benefit both staff and students in the college.
Lyn is the right person to help the college grow and support our students to become the public health leaders of tomorrow, here in Arizona and around the world.

The Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona Health Sciences is very pleased to welcome Lyn Durán, MA, as the new Assistant Dean for the Office of Student Affairs (OSA). Lyn brings extensive experience with student support and advising, alongside a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a successful team leader for student services, she values collaboration and knows how to support staff so they can do their best work.
“I’m very excited to be working in the College of Public Health with the talented and dedicated OSA team,” says Lyn, “Our public health students are passionate about social justice and health equity, and I feel the same way. I’m honored and inspired to help support our students educational journey and cultivate a sense-of-belonging here, so they can go out and make the world a better place.”
Durán previously served as the Director of Advising for the UArizona’s College of Humanities, and she brings extensive leadership experience in student services and advising. After she earned her Master of Arts in Language, Reading, and Culture with an emphasis on bilingual and multicultural education at the University of Arizona, she worked in student services at Michigan State University where she ascended through leadership positions before her return to Arizona in 2002.
