    Hometown:

    Chandler, AZ

    Before entering the program:

I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Linguistics at Arizona State University! I wanted to go into the health field, but I also wanted a way to give back to the Hispanic community. I found public health and never looked back.

Why did you choose public health?

I wanted to help people without becoming a nurse or a doctor. I was drawn to public health because we help communities based on their current strengths. We can't fix the entire health problem, but we can give the tools based on the community's strengths to create a healthier community.

    Why did you choose MEZCOPH?

I was impressed with the various research topics the faculty are researching. There were so many things I wanted to try out, and I knew I could at MEZCOPH.

    Public health interests:

Teen pregnancy in low-income Hispanic communities, school health within lower-income communities.

    Interests/hobbies outside of school:

I love to read, bake new recipes, and hang out with my family!

    Tip for future students:

Take the risk! Sometimes, it is the best thing that could happen to you.
