Raymond Andrade, M.Ed |
Raymond Andrade, M.Ed, instructional coordinator at the Arizona Public Health Training Center was selected to participate in an E-Learning Institute sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Scientific Education and Professional Development Program Office, and the Public Health Foundation. He is among a group of 10 people from across the U.S. selected to participate in the program.
Raymond will utilize this opportunity to transform the AzPHTC’s Public Health Essentials in Action Course into an e-learning course. The course provides information to the public health workforce about the public health core functions and essential services that public health agencies provide and how they work as a team to support the public’s health.
Raymond will attend a training session at the CDC headquarters in Atlanta in August and will complete the remainder of training through webinars.
The Arizona Public Health Training Center at the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health is part of a network of 38 Public Health Training Centers nationwide. Funded by Health and Human Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the AzPHTC works to respond to critical health system needs by providing continuing education and training to the public health workforce. In addition, emphasis is placed on producing diverse and culturally competent Master of Public Health (MPH) graduates, and working toward increasing the number of MPH graduates who select careers in health departments and non-profit agencies working with underserved populations.
