Abstract: The paradigm shift from a “sick care” to a disease prevention model is driven by the need to address health inequities. The paradigm shift requires a shift from a detached yet concerned attitude to patient and relationship centered approaches. The presentation will cover the results of a hermeneutic phenomenological study assessing how we can prepare physicians during their residency to practice under the new model.
