Partners In Health “Bending the Arc” Panel Discussion

In the midst of the most challenging public health crisis of our lifetimes, it is more important than ever to celebrate public health. To mark National Public Health Week, April 5-11, the Pima County Health Department (PCHD) will host a slate of activities to thank all public health workers for the work they’ve done during the pandemic and year-round.

Join us on Thursday, April 8th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm MST for a discussion panel featuring Dr. Paul Farmer, Co-founder of Partners In Health. Dr. Farmer and local community partners will discuss take-away messages from “Bending the Arc” film, how COVID-19 has transformed public health and the health care system, and how public health remains at the forefront of the effort to improve health equity and justice.

The film, “Bending the Arc” is a documentary produced by Partners In Health, which tells the story of a global health movement documenting how individuals can join together to advocate and change the course of inequality and injustice. View the trailer here.

Bending the Arc is available on Netflix. The Health Department is also holding a viewing of the film from 2-3pm MST on Monday, April 5th (1st half) and Tuesday, April 6th (2nd half). Links for these viewings and PCHD's complete schedule of events for Nation Public Health Week can be found here: https://bit.ly/2PY3iaG

We hope you will join us and our fellow colleagues and community partners in viewing the film and attending the panel discussion.
